Ready for pickers, where's the sun?
We
expect the crop to be ready sometime around June 20, please
check here or call.
Our berries have not
been
sprayed with insecticides. Our strawberry fields have NOT been
sprayed with herbicides. We will be using an ORGANIC
fungicide spray to avoid wide spread fruit rot in case of a
wet spring/summer. Update:
We did not spray fungicide, so our berries are SPRAY FREE!
We use a combination of organic and chemical fertilizers.
Here are our rows on April 27, 2007.

Here are our Strawberry flowers just before pollination.
The first flowers started around May 5 - some varieties are
in full bloom May 15!!

The rows are ready for straw! May 13

Our 5 new rows have a good bloom on them so we are
hopeful for a bigger crop this year!
May 25, 2008 - They grow so fast, they don't look like
this anymore!

April 29, 2008

Our raspberries were huge and delicious last year.
We had only 3 rows in production. This year, we will
have an additional 5
rows in their first year of production so we should have
a few more berries available. Next year we hope to have a
lots available. In addition we hope to increase
the size of our patch in 2009 or 2010.
Our raspberries are fertilized with compost, fish
emulsion and chemical fertilizers. There are no
insecticides or herbicides sprayed on the plants at any time. We spray
a fungicide on the root zone in the fall to control for Phytophotora root rot. We also apply organic
amendments to the soil to help control for root rot.
There are no sprays on the flowers or berries.
Here are the Raspberry rows on April 27, 2007.
